It has been quite some time since I've left the campus for a long time. I've been staying with the Academy every chance I got since I was fourth class. This is the first semester I've come back pretty confused as to what was happening (usually I'm the go-to-guy for information and the general happenings around the Academy just for being around almost year round). After the long wait of around four weeks, I was given the call to go off to Sasebo, Japan and board the USNS Shasta. We took a tour around Japan and Korea, then we sailed across the Pacific to Port Townsend, WA with a stop at Lualualea, HI. I wish we could have stayed until I acquired my needed sea time (60 days), but classes had already started and we would have been kicked out if we didn't get off then.
From Port Townsend, we were driven to Seattle to catch the flight back home. Moving back on campus was a pain; unpacking, repacking, unpacking again, getting courses straightened out, working as a squad leader...oh the pain...we haven't even talked about the actual classes...
